I have finally been forced to become more socially media savvy. I am not saying I will be good at it but I am making the attempt. My class this fall is examining artistic development and part of the course looks at the role social media could play in education. I now have a twitter, scoopit, arteducation2.0, pinterest, updated my website and am utilizing my Facebook account in connected ways. Since my interest is art technology I think this will be a good way to broaden the scope of my social media acumen.
For those who might be interested in finding articles about an area of interest Scoopit.com is an online way social media site where you can curate articles about a topic you decide on. Once you have signed up, select a topic and either search the site itself for related articles or add articles via a scoopit button you can add to your tool bar. It allows you to give a brief introduction to your readers before you publish the link in your page. I am including a link to mine below. I am gathering information related to art technology. It seems to be a good way to share interesting research and articles.
I have found numerous resources on technology/art and education. Some look promising, I hope to be incorporating them into my classroom soon.
